The arrival of summer is something you feel… and celebrate with bonfires, purification rituals and a belief in the magic of the night.

At Ca’n Beneït, that feeling takes shape among the mountains, beneath starry skies, in gardens lit by soft strings of lights and enveloped in gentle music.

June brings the solstice and with it the chance to embrace a symbolic moment: to let go of what no longer serves you, to welcome the start of summer from a place where time slows… and to ignite what you truly wish for.

Fire as a ritual, the night as a promise

On the 23rd of June, Mallorca lights up. The Nit de Sant Joan—the eve of the solstice—is an ancient celebration where fire serves as a symbol of purification. Originally pagan, this festival has blended with Christian traditions to become one of the most magical nights in the Mediterranean.

Bonfires are lit in squares, on beaches and in courtyards. People write wishes on paper, leap over the flames, cast flowers into the sea or share a slice of coca — the traditional sweet pastry for the occasion. In Palma, torches and dimonis (devilish figures) parade through Parc de la Mar, beneath the cathedral, filling the night with sparks, fire and the scent of gunpowder…

In nearby towns like Sóller or Inca, the festivities blend tradition and community. Along the coast, beaches glow with candlelight, music drifts from guitars, conversations linger, and midnight swims mark the longest and most magical night — as wishes are made when the clock strikes twelve.

How the night of the 23rd is lived at Ca’n Beneït

Here, the longest night of the year is celebrated at the rhythm of the place: softly, soulfully.

It becomes an intimate evening in the gardens, with a special dinner at Mirabona (to be confirmed), toasts under the stars, candlelight and live music that caresses the night. A gathering that needs no script — only presence, connection, a gaze to the sky as distant fires light the horizon.

The magic happens in serenity… and in company. With no light pollution, the night sky becomes a spectacle. And you, a privileged witness to this quiet, intimate atmosphere.

Mallorca in June: vineyards that speak of time and place

By day, exquisite wine routes to explore

June is the perfect month for visiting vineyards, enjoying outdoor tastings and meeting winemakers who speak through the land.

Vines bloom, fields turn green and gold, and the Serra de Tramuntana shelters the north of the island with a unique microclimate that favours winegrowing.

Wine has been cultivated on Mallorca since Roman times, and today the island’s wineries combine traditional methods with modern techniques and a deep commitment to sustainability — giving Mallorcan wines an internationally recognised character.

Vinyes Mortitx, located in the heart of the Serra, is a standout example. Set at 400 metres above sea level and just one kilometre from the sea, its 19 hectares of vineyards thrive in a unique mountain and maritime microclimate.

Cycling among vineyards, pausing to taste a Mantonegro, taking in the landscape without hurry… everything aligns to savour the essential.
